Learning For Life
The CACC connects to schools, economic development, recreation, urban planning, and public and private sector partners to forge the strategic alliances necessary to focus on the health and vitality of the Southeastern Virginia region and encourages artists to play an active role in its development. The arts incubator offers residency and rehearsal space to individuals and groups who wish to launch new arts ventures and to expand the scope of those organizations already in place. Additional services include administrative support, and resources in arts management.
The arts incubator provides year round accessible on-site arts educational activities and outreach programming at the Attucks Theatre for students of all ages, in dance, theatre, literary, and visual arts, film exhibition, and technology. The program offers an integrated understanding and uses the beauty and humanity of the African-American heritage and other cultures to unite people of all races, ages and backgrounds. It seeks to welcome and inspire people of every ethnic and cultural identity in American life. Guided by our respective memories and experiences, together we aim to build a society in which all of us can feel at home.
