Education

CACC responds to its neighboring communities for bold innovative education initiatives, and put CACC on the cutting edge of using the arts to enhance learning. The CACC engages young people in the arts as a way to develop the skills they need to be effective in work, at home, and in school. Each year CACC provides public schools year round support from outside the traditional school systems to help them fill educational gaps, and to keep their students engaged and involved in their own learning. Our arts education programs utilizing Math, Science, Writing, Character Development, and Health with correlations to the Virginia Standards of Learning and Virginia Building Blocks for Pre-school – 12th grade students programs. Core programs are Behind the Lens, Attucks Theatre Summer Arts Program, and RISE! (Rhythm in Setting Expectations).

CACC gives students the chance to enhance their learning and explore their world through dance, music, creative writing, film, theatre, photography, technology, and visual arts. Through culminating experiences, they tell their stories to the world. The CACC inspires students toward a new found love of learning with innovative resources that motivate young people toward higher academic and personal achievement.

The CACC’s education programs will enrich our society by aiding individuals to become more self reliant and to improve the quality of life in their communities. It is about giving our youth opportunities to discover their world through focused discipline. It helps students build their self-confidence, strengthen their academic performance, unleash their passion, and hopefully realize their full potential.
