The Attucks Theatre Summer Arts Program is a eight-week series of project oriented camps, culminating in exhibits and performances for youth, ages 7-17. It provides a unique opportunity for students to work directly with professional artists and gain quality experience through hands on activities in dance, music, creative writing, film, theatre, visual arts, and technology.
An important aspect of the program’s success is in providing positive adult and peer role models, and giving campers an invaluable opportunity to explore their creativity, and strengthen their respect for themselves and others within a supportive framework that gives them an important foundation for the future.
The Attucks Theatre Summer Arts Program is partially supported by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
